A new and better way to organize it-systems, vendors and GDPR
The way we as teams and individuals work and execute tasks today requires us to use more applications/systems and vendors, and process larger amounts of personal data than ever before.
In any size company we find employees who use plug & play applications such as Dropbox, Slack, Trello, Evernote, Google Sheet or any of the 10,000 systems out there.
This happens ”in the dark” and without consent from management or the IT-responsible person. Ideally, this is managed centrally, but in fact it is very autonomous. Perhaps much more than anyone will acknowledge.
The problem is….the number of it-systems is growing month by month, we work even more independently and remote, and companies use more freelancers. This development in the way we work and run businesses requires more it-systems to facilitate it and this ultimately exposes companies to increased risk.
On the same time increased data protection regulation imposes large risks to companies such as fines of up to 4% of global revenue, reputation damage and thereby loss of business.
